Use Personalized Wedding Ribbons To Decorate Your Wedding
Flowers are the first things on your mind when someone mentions wedding décor. This isn’t a surprise since colorful flower blooms have been used since time immemorial in beautifying wedding ceremonies and receptions. The visual appeal and fragrant smell add pizzazz to the celebration of love. But did you know that flowers are not the only decorative item commonly used during weddings? Another staple that you should make use of is the ribbon. This item can be used to personalize your wedding. And you can do it without the extra cost. Ribbons are fairly inexpensive and they come in various types. Below, you’ll find the different ways on how to use ribbons to personalize your wedding inexpensively.
Invitation
Even before you think about how to decorate your venue with ribbons, you need to send out the invitations first. A ribbon is a fantastic way to decorate and customize your wedding invites. One idea is to wrap the invitation with a pair of thin ribbons in your wedding colors. For example, if your beach wedding motif is turquoise blue and brown, then wrap the invite with satin ribbons of these colors and add a starfish trinket. You may also tie a ribbon into a box and paste it on top of the invitation. Another fun way to do it is to punch a hole through the invite’s stationery and use a ribbon to hold them together. Choose a raffia ribbon if you’re having an eco-friendly wedding and a tulle ribbon if your wedding exudes of a classic style.
Ceremony venue
In the ceremony venue, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to personalize the place with ribbons. For one, create large bows and put these on the ends of the aisles or pews. It’s also nice to add ribbon trails at the edges of the flower decorations. Wrap a ribbon around the unity candle in the altar. Just see to it that the ribbons are not too near the flame so they won’t get burned. Ribbons may also be used to decorate the ring bearer’s pillow or the bouquets of the flower girls, bridesmaids, and the bride herself. You may also use slender satin ribbons to tie together the wedding program pages. Do this the same way as the invitation above. Punch a hole on the pages and use the ribbon to tie them all together. Moreover, you may use ribbons as embellishments for the flower decorations in the altar.
Reception venue
The reception venue can be filled up with as many wedding ribbons as you wish. Long and thick fabric ribbons can be attached in the center of the ceiling and draped dramatically to the corners. Fabric ribbons may also be used to decorate the chairs. Use ribbons in your wedding colors to tie around each individual chair. Table centerpieces can be adorned with different types of ribbon. Raffia ribbon looks beautiful on a tier of potted flower plants in the center of the buffet table or guests’ table. Tie ribbons around the personalized wedding napkins, line the placemats with elegant ribbons, and dress up the couple’s table with various colors of ribbons. You definitely won’t run out of possibilities. Wherever you look, you’ll find an opportunity to use ribbons for personalizing and dressing up the venue of the reception.
Cake
It doesn’t matter whether you’re having a creamy icing cake or one that’s made with fondant. Chiffon, organdy, organza, grosgrain, and iridescent ribbons are some of those that you can use for adorning the cake. It’s also possible to have the baker create edible fondant ribbons to put around the cake. Since fondant decorations are incredibly realistic, guests won’t be able to tell the difference until they see you eating the cake and the icing too! For the cake eating tradition, guests will be surprised that you don’t remove the decors from the cake before taking a bite. Then they’ll realize that the ribbons are actually edible.
Favor
Finally, you can make use of ribbons for the wedding favors. Even inexpensive and simple wedding favors would look grand and sophisticated with the right packaging. Homemade cookies places in a mason jar wrapped with cute woven ribbons would be a hit among the guests. Flower seeds or chocolate balls put inside a box wrapped with handmade paper and tied with chiffon or lace ribbon would be much appreciated.
